VPSC SWIM SCHOOL 1

**ASSESSMENT REQUIRED PRIOR TO REGISTRATION**

Ages: 5-6 years old as of December 31, 2026 (subject to change per session)

Location: St. George's Senior School

 

FALL-WINTER 2026-27 SCHEDULE:

• Swim School 1 Schedule:
  • May sign up for 1-2 days per week (2x is highly recommended)
  • Mondays: 4:00-4:45pm
  • Wednesdays: 4:00-4:45pm
  • Fridays: 4:00-4:45pm
  • Saturdays: 9:15-10:00am

 

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Goggles, Long Fins, Training Suit, Water Bottle, VPSC cap (1 Provided with Registration)

 

FEES: 

• $550.00 per day selected 
  • *1 Day/week = $575.00 ($25.00 + $550.00)
  • *2 Days/week = $1,125.00 ($25.00 + $550.00 + $550.00)
  • *3 Days/week = $1,675.00 ($25.00 + $550.00 + $550.00 + $550.00)

• **For the VPSC Swim School, once a swimmer has attended their first class, the fees will be non-refundable.**

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Undergo an assessment. 
• Prerequisites: swimmers must be able to
  • Swim 25m of the pool unassisted safely
  • Swim unassisted in deep water safely
  • Flutter kick on their stomach (with a kickboard) & on their back
  • Be comfortable jumping in the water unassisted

 

ABOUT SS1: 

Intro to competitive swimming and building confidence in the water. This level focuses on learning the competitive swimming language, introduction to drills, and all 4 types of kick.

  • May sign up for 1-3 days per week (max 3x)
    • Note: 2-3x is highly recommended for progression into Minis Bronze. 
  • Mondays: 4:45-5:30pm
  • Wednesdays: 4:45-5:30pm
  • Fridays: 4:45-5:30pm
  • Saturdays: 9:15-10:00am

  • swim 2 x 25m of the pool unassisted safely
  • swim 25m of freestyle
  • swim 25m of backstroke
  • attempt 10m of dolphin kick
  • attempt 10m of breaststroke kick
  • attempt a sitting dive or knee dive

 

ABOUT SS2: 

Swimmers will be building on their foundational skills in competitive swimming with a focus on body position, kick and using drills in freestyle and backstroke. This level also focuses on diving into the pool in a streamline position as well as further development in dolphin and breaststroke kick.
