VPSC SWIM SCHOOL 1: Fall-Winter Session

**ASSESSMENT REQUIRED PRIOR TO REGISTRATION**

Ages: 5-6 years old as of December 31, 2025 (subject to change per session)

Location: Lord Byng Pool

FALL-WINTER SCHEDULE: 25/26 SS Fall-Winter Schedule 

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Goggles, Long Fins, Training Suit, Water Bottle, VPSC cap (1 Provided with Registration)

FEES: $450 / 16 classes** +$25 Administrative Fee

• $450.00 per day selected
  • *1 Day/week = $475.00 ($25.00 + $450.00)
  • *2 Days/week = $925.00 ($25.00 + $450.00 + 450.00)
  • *3 Days/week = $1,375.00 ($25.00 + $450.00 + $450.00 + $450.00)
• **For the VPSC Swim School, once a swimmer has attended their first class, the fees will be non-refundable.**

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Undergo an assessment. 
• Prerequisites: swimmers must be able to
  • Swim 25m of the pool unassisted safely
  • Swim unassisted in deep water safely
  • Flutter kick on their stomach (with a kickboard) & on their back
  • Be comfortable jumping in the water unassisted

ABOUT SS1: 

Intro to competitive swimming and building confidence in the water. This level focuses on learning the competitive swimming language, introduction to drills, and all 4 types of kick. 

• Days: Monday /Wednesday /Friday Early /Saturday
• May sign up for 1-2 days per week (max: 2x)

VPSC SWIM SCHOOL 2: Fall-Winter Session

  • swim 2 x 25m of the pool unassisted safely
  • swim 25m of freestyle
  • swim 25m of backstroke
  • attempt 10m of dolphin kick
  • attempt 10m of breaststroke kick
  • attempt a sitting dive or knee dive

ABOUT SS2: 

Swimmers will be building on their foundational skills in competitive swimming with a focus on body position, kick and using drills in freestyle and backstroke. This level also focuses on diving into the pool in a streamline position as well as further development in dolphin and breaststroke kick.

• Days: Tuesday /Thursday/ Friday Late /Saturday
• May sign up for 1-3 days per week (max: 3x)
  • Note: 2-3x is recommended for progression into Bronze.
